Rocky Mountain Flycasters - Privacy Policy

Rocky Mountain Flycasters (RMF), a chapter of Trout Unlimited, Inc. (TU), and member of the Colorado Council of Trout Unlimited (CTU), has created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to your privacy concerns. The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for these web sites: www.rockymtnflycasters.org, forum.rockymtnflycasters.org.

Briefly, we pledge to use the personal information you provide to us for the purpose of meeting RMF-TU mission and goals and not re-distribute your personal information. Below are more specific details that make up the whole of our policy.

Why we collect information

RMF through its web site strives to provide users with pertinent information to fulfill our national TU mission of conserving, protecting, and restoring North America’s trout and salmon fisheries and their watersheds. We share specific local information about issues affecting our membership area. In order to provide the best service possible, we collect general, anonymous information about site visitors—and to provide individual service, more personal information.

What information we collect

Information we collect may be anonymous or personal. Anonymous information includes site access information, browser type, internet protocol (IP) addresses, which files are accessed, and time/date stamps. RMF uses cookies to administer our web site. A cookie is a small file placed on your computer by a web site. This assigns you a unique ID, which helps us generate usage statistics, and, if applicable, to identify you when entering password-restricted areas. You have the option to accept or deny cookies, but you must have cookies enabled to make use of certain features and enter password-protected areas.

These sites contain links to other sites. RMF and TU are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of other web sites.

RMF’s site uses several online forms for visitors to send notices, newsletters, and services. Contact information obtained from the forms is used to fulfill orders and distribute additional information about RMF. RMF collects visitors’ contact information (e.g., address, phone numbers and email address), and may request unique identifiers (e.g., user names, TU membership ID number), and financial information (credit card numbers). In all cases, visitors may opt-out of receiving future contacts from RMF; see the choice/opt-out section below.

What information we disclose

Please note that email addresses are for RMF’s use only, and will not be rented or sold. RMF may solicit charitable contributions for the benefit of the chapter. Unless donors to RMF elect to remain anonymous, we may reveal only the names of donors within established recognition categories as a means of acknowledging the chapter’s gratitude for their contributions.

Under no circumstances will RMF make a member’s address, phone number, email address, or financial information available to outside parties unless ordered by a court of law.

Occasionally, RMF conducts online surveys and asks visitors for contact information. We use data from our surveys to improve our member and visitor service and distribute information about our organization.

Public Forums

This site makes forums and message boards available to its users.

The RMF forum is a public message board. Please remember that any information disclosed in this forum becomes public information; please exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information.

Security

This site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. No financial data is transmitted through the RMF site. We do accept payments through the PayPal site using secure web technology. Please see its PayPal Privacy Policy.

One easy method to verify security is to check the bottom left corner of your browser. Whenever you enter a secure area the broken key (or padlock) icon is replaced by a solid, secure key (or padlock). Whenever you see this icon, your personal information will be safely and securely transmitted over the web.
