Volunteers are needed on October 30th for our annual trail maintenance days at Eagles Nest. Larimer County provides the appropriate tools. Meeting location for possible carpooling to Eagles Nest is decided upon about a week before the work date based on who wants to participate. Otherwise, you can meet up with everyone at Eagles Nest (just off Rt 287 at Livermore). The work day generally runs from around 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. For more information or to sign up, please contact Guy Turenne, RMF Trustee at Large and Eagles Nest Project Leader.
Note of the Day:
When steelhead travel in the open ocean, feeding on squid, fish and small crustaceans, they follow surface temperatures of about 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Thus, Alaskan steelhead are found only in rivers in the southern third of the state, because ocean temperatures off northern Alaska are too cold for these sea-run rainbows. source unknown
