- October 1-6: National Fly Fishing Championship. Held in Northern Colorado. Competition Waters include: Parvin, Dowdy, the Big Thompson, and two sections of the Poudre River. Practice Waters include: Bellaire, West Lake, and river areas adjacent water not in the competion area. See the NFFC page for links to additional information.
- October 10: General Meeting — Chris Kennedy, a biologist with the Rocky Mountain National Park will present Greenbacks in the Park. He will discuss the background and current status of greenbacks in the Park as well as some of their locations and possibly some tips about what flies will attract these beauties. We will also become acquainted with some of the ongoing research in the Park. If you combine running the fish census and being an avid fisherman, as well as being a seasoned speaker, Chris Kennedy is someone you won't want to miss. Bring your friends. Members are welcome to attend any board meeting. Check with a Board Member to find out where the meeting is being held. - October 20: Eagles Nest Watering Day Cancelled due to rain! Eagles Nest Open Space received some good rains this past weekend, 1-1/1/2 inches! We decided to cancel our watering day. We will see how things progress in November—if it is dry and the soil up there does not freeze, we may try to do some watering later in November.
