The Day Camp program is designed for 15 campers (ages 14-18) and we expect that all openings will be filled. The daily schedule is from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. The daily schedule is from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. Equipment and transportation between activity venues will be provided. Campers will bring lunches and rain gear. The Day Camp is a fast paced six days of instruction, participation, and great fun. We’ll learn how to fly fish, including learning about watersheds, riparian habitat, river ecology, fly fishing equipment, knots, and regulations, water safety, local and regional conservation issues, trout anatomy and behavior, casting and line control, while we spend lots of time on the water.

Time on the water includes casting practice on some warm water ponds with eager bass, reading the water and electro-shocking trout on the Big Thompson, and then chasing some finicky hungry trout on the Poudre River. Other days we’ll be catching bugs and learning how to tie flies that look like them…to fool more fish. We look forward to have some great students this year, just as in past years.
